Classical Series
Composer Maurice Ravel once recalled, “The only love affair I ever had, was with music.” The HSO Classical Series is dedicated to celebrating and exploring the timeless classics of the orchestra in a traditional format, from Beethoven to Bartók and beyond, sometimes including fresh new music by emerging composers of our own time.
Our Classical Series is composed of 5 performances. Most of these performances feature guest soloists, some in collaboration with other performing groups, such as the Huntsville Community Chorus. Classical concerts are performed in the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the Von Braun Center unless noted otherwise.
Classical Series concert tickets are available for single purchase or by season subscription. Classical subscriptions are a great and easy way to purchase tickets for the whole Classical Series. Pops Series
Whether you’re into New Orleans jazz, Appalachian fiddling, hard rock, thrilling movie scores, Broadway ballads, or a little bit of it all? – each season of the HSO Pops Series has something you’re sure to enjoy. These performances reach outside of the traditional orchestra setlist and prove that the symphony is for everyone!
This year’s Pops Series includes 4 exciting concerts. Some Pops performances feature the orchestra exclusively; while some may star a visiting soloist or group backed by the musicians of the HSO; and a few will spotlight a stellar guest ensemble without the orchestra. (Even the Maestro needs a night off!) All Pops performances are held in the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall unless noted otherwise. Pops concert tickets are available for single purchase or through a series subscription.

Compose Your Own
Travel, musical interests, and other factors of life can make the commitment of a subscription hard to justify for some. With the Compose Your Own option, you can build your own subscription and commit to concerts as you’d like! Compose Your Own subscriptions also allow you to mix Classical and Pops concerts for a balance that is to your liking. The flexibility of this option can be a huge stress relief in a busy schedule.
Compose Your Own subscriptions are bundles of ticket vouchers that you can redeem all at once or throughout the season. Vouchers are available in packages of 4, 6, 8, or 10 concerts, and creating your subscription is easy with the help of our staff!
STEP ONE:
Place your order and we’ll mail your vouchers which you can use to attend any Classical and/or Pops concerts at any time during the season.
STEP TWO:
Redeem your vouchers by calling the HSO office (256-539-4818) at your convenience. Pick your concert(s) and we’ll work with you to get the best seats available at the time of your voucher redemption.
