Verdi’s Requiem is widely considered one of the most magnificent pieces ever composed, and regardless if one is versed in liturgical Latin, it is music that strikes directly to the heart. Not solely a religious work, it is more a statement of what an inspired genius can achieve and how that genius can reach out to his audience.
