Rob Hudson, Principal Timpani

rob-hudsonRob Hudson is the Principal Timpanist of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, having been appointed in January 2009. He was also the Principal Timpanist of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera from 2008 to 2012, and has performed with the Nashville Symphony, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, West Virginia Symphony, and Fort Wayne Philharmonic. In addition to his musical career, Rob is a developer of iPhone, iPad, and Android apps.

A native of Atlanta, Rob holds a Master of Music Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Bachelor of the Arts from the Boston University School of Music. His teachers include Paul Yancich, Richard Flanagan, Timothy Genis, and Ron Barnett. He toured Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, and participated in the National Orchestral Institute and the Festival-Institute at Round Top.
