Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn and an Alabama Premiere features distinguished composer Joseph Schwantner on February 6.

Rising star Kazem Abdullah is the first African-American conductor on the HSO’s podium. He leads Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony. Fiery piano virtuoso Yakov Kasman plays Tchaikovsky’s popular first piano concerto. The HSO presents the Alabama premiere of Chasing Light... by Joseph Schwanter, one of America's most prominent living composers.
